Dear Parents,
I want to welcome you and your child to an exciting year in first grade. Your child will learn how to read, write, compute basic math, and investigate the world of science and social studies.
I have taught in the Animas Public School district for the past twenty-one years. My teaching experience has been primarily first grade.
Teaching your child is a very serious matter - every moment is precious. For the next nine months, your child is my child. I will not only stress academics, but will incorporate strong self-esteem, citizenship, good morals, and a strong work ethic into the realm of my classroom.
Thank you,
Mrs. Kelly Sanchez-Hurt
P.S.
Also, please read the following items:
Parent-Teacher Conferences:
Should any problems or questions arise during the school year, parent-teacher conferences will be scheduled before or after school. Conferences will not take place during "class time". The Mid/Elem. school phone number is 548-2297
Classroom Webpage:
http://www.animask12.net
Progress Reports:
Progress reports will be sent out the fourth or fifth
week of each nine-week grading period. (Grades can go up or down
after a progress report has been sent to you. It is very important
that parents monitor their child's daily schoolwork.)
After School Programs:
I will need a note from you if your child is staying
after school for any special programs (Cloverbuds, Girl Scouts, etc.)
Sign-In at the Office:
All visitors must sign-in at the principal's (Mrs. Stinehart's) office and get a "Guest Pass" prior to visiting the classroom. In the event of a crisis situation, we must know who is on campus. If you are dropping off a book, lunch box, taking your child to lunch, etc., you must sign-in at the office first. We are making
every effort to make our school a safe place for your child.
