May School Board Meeting

Eugenie Mora

I have been assisting Mr. Thatcher in Algebra II during second and fifth hours.

We have been teaching students to understand quadratic functions, graphs of quadratic

functions, and perfect squares. I help the students to find vertices, lines of symmetry, and

intercepts of the axis.

The students in the communication skills class are learning vocabulary words for

“Supreme Court Decisions”, “She Got Game”, “Should Washington, D. C. Get a Vote in

Congress?” and "Google Mistrials." They are also reading to find context clues, story

details, and the main ideas of stories. Additionally, they are writing sentences and

compositions. The students present their compositions to the class as a speech. The

compositions have been about “Mysteries of Mankind,” “Wild Animals,” “ Historic

Places,” and "Planet Earth." The students are using the Moodle class in conjunction with

the classroom activities. Resources can be accessed, and assignments can be posted

through Moodle, which is housed on the Animas server.

The Panther Pride gave the track team members ball-shaped sipper cups before

they left for the district track meet. We are planning to give the state track meet

participants a goody-bag before they leave to compete in Albuquerque. It has been a fun,

supportive and enthusiastic year for the Panther Pride Club. Mrs. Jackson and I have

enjoyed sponsoring the organization.
