Jerry is the new superintendent for Animas Schools.  Prior to coming to Animas he was the Assistant Superintendent and Principal at Fort Sumner .  He also taught Vocational Agriculture in Clovis for 12 years before moving to Fort Sumner .

Both Drue and Jerry are thrilled to be a part of the Animas Schools and look forward to an eventful and exciting year.

The Birdwell’s have been married for almost 39 years.  Their family consists of a daughter and son-in-law; Leigh and Levi Lay and (the best part) 2 granddaughters, Brooke 6 and Jolie 3. 

My Educational Philosophy is very simple-I believe that education is a growing, expanding process with no definitive end. Our ultimate goal is to enable our students to become learners, not just while they are in school, but for their lifetime.
