Robin was born in Sierra Vista, Arizona, to Cale and Lou Newman. She had five sisters and two brothers, making for a hectic, crowded household, which she wouldn't have changed! Ten of her family members have been involved in education. After graduating from high school, she worked as an instructional aide in an elementary school while attending Cochise College at night. After working ten years, she went back to college full-time and graduated from WNMU in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. She has taught here for eleven years, in kindergarten, second and third grades, and mid school. She presently teaching Kindergarten. Robin completed her MA in Elementary Education. She and her husband, David, and their two daughters, Melinda and Marlana, live on the Guadalupe Ranch. They raise cattle and horses. Robin enjoys teaching in Animas with a caring staff and well-behaved, wonderful students.
