Coach Jackson: Varsity

Tracey Jackson was born November 7, in Douglas Arizona. She attended Animas Schools and graduated in 1980. Tracey went to college at WMNU on a athletic scholarship in basketball and received her BA in education in 1984. Her first teaching and coaching job was in Ft. Sumner, NM where she coached all three sports. After three years at the fort she married her high school sweetheart Bryan Jackson and taught in Lordsburg for three years. After leaving Lordsburg Tracey came home in 1991 to the family ranch and began coaching and teaching at the high school. She has taught various subjects at both the high school and mid-school as well as coached basketball and track at those two levels. Tracey has coached now for 23 years and has had the opportunity to coach three NM all star games. Bryan and Tracey have two sons Cole is 19 and attends ENMU on a rodeo scholarship. Casey is 18 and is senior this year at AHS. Coach Jackson enjoys her family and is very proud of her boys. When not coaching or watching her sons she announces rodeos and puts on team ropings.



Coach Laborin: Jv

    Coach Laborin was born on Feb 5, 1980 in Silver City, NM to Louie and Marry Laborin. He was raised for the next 18 years of his life in Playas, NM with his younger brother Tommy and younger sister Melissa. He attended Animas Public Schools all the way through his high school graduation in 98. He then attended Western New Mexico University on an athletic scholarship for football. Here he spent the next five years playing for the Mustangs and earning his degree in occupational therapy. While at Western he met his wife Sylvia Uresti, and have been happily together ever since. They have two beautiful daughters together, Jocelyn and Larissa. Jocelyn is five years old and is in her first year with APS, Larissa is three and is attending the preschool.

   Coach Laborin is in his fifth year of coaching high school athletics. He started five years ago in Douglas, AZ as the Varsity assistant for the high school football team. He would spend the next two seasons at DHS coaching football and mid school basketball. Coach Laborin then moved back to NM where he received a teaching/coaching position with the Gadsden School District in Anthony, NM. At GHS Laborin began his career as a Special Education Teacher, he also was coaching varsity football as an assistant. After a year at GHS Laborin moved to Socorro, NM where he would spent the next year coaching football at the varsity level with an old college teammate. Coach Laborin then received an opportunity that he never thought would come up, the head football job at his old high school. So with only being in Socorro for a year Laborin decided to make the move back to his roots. Laborin is excited for the opportunity to come back Animas and is planning to make a long career out of it.
