Darksiders
you puts in control of War, one of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse. It starts
out with an all out war between heaven and hell and conveniently enough they
chose earth for their fight. War is sent there but is charged with setting off
the apocalypse prematurely and is sent back to earth 100 years later to clear
his name.
The visuals look like they have been pulled from a comic in some parts. That
is part in due to the fact that it was penned by legendary comic book artist
Joe Madureira (X-Men, Battle Chasers, The Ultimates). The character models and
enemies are superb in contrast to some of the bland landscapes that you will
encounter.
The games mechanics rely heavily on past action adventure games, aka Zelda and
God of war. Even though Darksiders is pretty much “been here done that”
it does it well. I highly recommend this game to anyone that is into action
and adventure, a fresh relief from Modern Warfare 2, overall a solid game and
good way to start off the new year.
