Why Daddy Chose to Die
And
alas the guns have ceased.
The fires burn till death alone.
Crowded homes and city streets.
Victims
pray on their knees,
For the loss of a loved one.
Reaching out above the heavenly sky
We all cry out, tonight.
Fire
burns in the pit of my stomach
This was only just a dream
Beside me he once lay,
No longer to this day.
I see it in my child's eyes,
The strength I knew he had.
War
corrupted our nation and poisoned our minds.
Causing peace among no one.
Now I have to explain to you son,
Why Daddy chose to die.
"Don't
fear for me my dearest love, for I need you to be strong.
I need to do this, and I need you to live on. "
Tears flooded my eyes as I looked at him and said,
"Don't leave me now, don't leave me here, I love you... please."
"My Queen, you are so strong I see it in your eyes,
My time is up, my time is done, for the sake that you live on."
And he was gone
So
son I tell you all these words
There's no need to be frightened,
For Daddy is watching over us now.
You're
all I have left now as each day passes by,
So son, I"m sorry if you don't understand
For you're so young.
Son, remember him as this day passes by,
And try to know why,
Why Daddy chose to die.
