Title I
Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) provides supplemental financial assistance to school districts for children from low-income families. Title I mandates that schools receiving Title I funds must involve parents in their children's education. This includes providing parents with information about the school's programs, their rights to be involved, and opportunities for meaningful participation. Schools must also develop written parent and family engagement policies and work with parents to develop these policies.
